Q: Your team appears to be on a roll, what happened? GM: Experience, we have a nice mix and a few hidden talents on individual players. Q: You didn't sign any big name UFAs, was that your plan or were you turned down? GM: We did originally tender offers but with the re-start of the proceedings we reviewed our needs and changed routes. That re-start gave the players time to think things out and didn't leave us to much choice. Q: You did still sign 3 players? GM: Yes, we signed defensemen Niclas Wallin and Kent Huskins also C/LW Matt Ellis. We signed 2 of our prospects, defenseman Shane O'Brien and RW/LW Ryan Callahan. Q: What were your needs going in? GM: We wanted more defense and a solid veteran forward. Q: Have you starting working on the next draft? GM: Well, we got robbed so there is not too many picks there. For one Tampa's GM walked into our offices for a meeting with his minute lady and he left with 2 picks and left me one player. I'll tell you something she is no minute lady, she stayed 2 hours. Carolina's GM is no better, though he only left with one pick. Wait a minute, you're printing this? Q: Going forward will you be looking to improve the team? GM: We expect a big improvement in our goalies and or a defenseman or two. For the forwards we might be interested in acquiring an offensive player. Q: Thank you for your time and answers. GM: You're welcome. Tell me something, don't you have a minute lady or something?
