DALLAS, TX --- Start cutting up the confetti, The Stars have confirmed tomorrows Stanley Cup parade will kick off at 2pm from the parking lot of the American Airlines Arena before ending up at the steps of city hall.
"A Magical Season"
"We came into this season having missed out on the playoffs the last couple of years with a new goaltender, solidified defense and some really agressive grinders. We expected to compete. We expected to win. This has truely been a magical season for the Dallas Stars, its players, and its fans"screamed coach Ken Hitchc0ck in the middle of a packed and crazy dressing room following The Stars 4-3 win in game seven over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Tomas Holmstrom came through with a natural hat trick in the final frame to bring the Stars back from two goal deficit with 9 minutes to play, scoring the winner with less than a minute to go.
"I was just trying to play hard and keep the action in their end. The puck went in and we all went crazy. You can't plan something like this, its just something that happens and I'm glad it happened to me and the team" said Holmstrom before getting pulled away to do Jell-O shooters with team captain Daniel Briere.
"Everyone wants a piece of the top dog"
Winning the Stanley Cup finals is a great accomplishment and while some members of the club are looking forward to getting to relax with their new hardware, for the front office their jobs are just beginning.
"I'm thrilled to have this experience. It's truely awesome. I want to thank everyone who's part of the Dallas Stars organization, the players, the coaching staff, the fans. This truely wouldn't be possible with out you guys" commented elated GM Ruben Jongstra.
"But for us it's back to work starting next week."
"Everyone wants a piece of the top dog, and for the next year that happens to be us. We've been lucky enough to bring back some pretty important pieces for next season, but we'll have our work cut out for us making sure we're ready when the puck drops again. Until then we'll be hard at work while these guys party hard"
The Stars ask that fans begin showing up early at the arena tomorrow as they are expecting a big turnout throughout the parade route.
