TURIN, ITALY -- After a long and painful bout with Team Finland this afternoon, Team USA finally succumbed to Veteran-itice.
The disease, which was first detected in late December, spread quickly.
Many in the U.S. held out hope that a cure could be found. But due to Olympic regulations and a heavy schedule, there simply wasn't enough time.
Team USA will be laid out at Baue Funeral Home in St. Louis, Missouri, where the body will lie in state for seven days before being buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
