Toronto is changing the look of it's team to shake their win one lose the next ways. The team has said it is re-evaluating an offer where it would leave only veteran Steve Staios with a CK rating of under 75 (70) on their defense. The offer will need to be sweetened if it is to go down sources say.

The team's Financial Board has refused to allow the team to make moves where they take on salary . With the team's erratic winning ways the board finds itself in a bind. They were given strict orders to keep things in order at the start of the season. With his hands being tied the GM will not be making moves that will hurt his yearly bonus.

The Leafs have received a few sand sticking toe offers but nothing serious. What has materialized is replacing a 34 year old with a 26 year old. Management refuses to do a massive re-built so getting younger is the goal set for now. Reducing salary is another goal the team is always looking at. If the goals on here were counted the Leafs would win 2-0 but they are looking at leaving it a tie at 1-1.

Leafs Office Miss Fires Again!Should read headlines in newspapers today. Leafs' Anson Carter was to be on waivers as of yesterday. It appears Leaf GM's secretary (Ursula Bonne-Aparty) bent down to pull a Waiver Form from a drawer and didn't surface until 1/2 an hour after the offices where to close. My secretary (Linda Ti-Amo Querida) says she never got the Waiver Form to fax to the league offices. I can not understand why Linda was at the office that late nor the reason she always has a video camera at the ready.

Leafs are attempting to make a couple of trades in order to right the team. One deal has a bug :(in it already due to an involved players' health. Another most likely will need the Leafs taking back their counter offer. Other moves are coming as the trades will have a snow ball affect on the lineup. What that means is that waivers, position changes and demotion are a result. What might be seen as a voiding the future of the team is not a concern to management. We have done well in the past and will continue to do so.

Leafs acquire another draft pick in a trade that was made in participation of another trade materializing. That's two more picks for this year, the team has a total now of six picks but no #1.

Eventful 24 hours for the Leafs. Pascal Leclaire skates onto the ice and puts Chris Osgood on the bench. Kris Versteeg over plays his shifts, leaving Tom Cavanagh on the bench. Fourth line centerman Jerred Smithson kept jumpimg on the ice before third line LW Tom Kostopoulos did, leaving him on the bench too. Other events had Toronto trade Kent Huskins D to L.A. for another D Mathieu Schneider. Yet another defenseman minor leaguer Matt Carkner was added by way of a UFA signing. Two more young prospect defensemen should be joining the team, once their individual PAs getting around to it.

Leafs Throwing Away Cash!Toronto signed defense-men Jason Garrison and Jeff Penner. Garrison signs a 3 year contract at $450 000 per year, while Penner gets a 4 year contract at $950 000 per year. It appears paying millions for 4th and 5th round picks is not happening this year. Is it a surprise Toronto's latest moves involves all defense men .

Frustrating Team To Play Against, The Leafs Are.
Ton of games lost due to injuries, yet the team is a .500 club. The latest injury to star RW Patrick Sharp is not causing management to break a drop of sweat. All it does is enable the 3 other RWs to move up a notch. Mikael Samuelsson has been biting his tongue for the last little while. If the whole Pro right side does as the Farm left side did last night we have no worries. The Marlies LWs move up a notch due to an injury to #1 LW Drew Miller. All they did was come up with 8 pts., a +5, 14 shots, 8 hits and 1 blocked shot. Recently signed defense man Matt Carkner might be called up and given a look as the 4th line RW. Minor or pro club are not short of bodies even with a ton of injuries. The only wish we have is that no fellow Quebec GMs inquires on the availability of one or more of our players. As past inquiries have resulted in the inquired player being injured soon after.
Our Marlies farm club is so well oiled at the moment our starting goalie wins the game after saving 1/1 shots before being injured. Our most dominating factor for the success down there has been face-off wins. Our young centers have been doing an unbelievable job winning face-offs.
On the trade front, management have no plans on acquiring salary only to see their future being put on hold. There are a few players on the market but management has taken a stiff stance. Opportunities to acquire players have been previously entertained but the team has been left at the offer table alone. We have gathered a few draft picks and intend on keeping them.

Leafs’ Veterans Show Support For Goalie Leclaire.
Captain Jarret Stoll with assistants Sean O’Donnell and Andrew Brunette held a meeting with GM Oliveira. After a players only meeting the decision to confront management about the playing time of Pascal Leclaire. They admitted that as a team they didn’t play well when Leclaire found himself in goal. Defensively the team was erratic at best when Leclaire was in the nets behind them. Management was also confronted with the question that Leclaire was not playing due to it being a contract year for him. The reply from management was a resounding no. Management pointed out to them that it has nothing to do with fact and that the other goalie also had a contract year. The meeting with management ended with everybody shaking hands and management agreeing the let Leclaire have more starts.
A near by hotel confirmed that it rented it’s top three floors to the Leafs for a week’s time. By all looks of the chargers for diapers and baby formulas the Leafs put up the whole team for the week.

Since the re-installment of goalie Pascal Leclaire as the Leafs’ primary starting goalie the team has a 9-4-win margin. Also scoring 48 goals on 294 shots and allowing 28 goals on 280 shots. In this 13 game stretch Leclaire has skunked the opposition 2 times.
One might think that the ship has been righted but the organization is not doing cartwheels. With some of their top guns suffering lengthy injuries the Leafs’ are taking a cautious attitude to their recent success. Andrew Brunette lost for 2 months at mid October, Steve Staios lost for 2 weeks at the beginning of December, Paul Gaustad lost for 2 weeks at the end of December, Sergei Samsonov lost for 2 weeks 2 days later, Kevin Bieksa lost for 1 week at mid January, Patrick Sharp lost for 2 months 5 days later, Mathieu Schneider is now out for a week. Another thing they are cautious of is Leclaire’s mental being. He is one of the top goalies in the TFNHL but has been a long way from proving it all season.
They do however look at the acquisitions through waivers, trades and the progress of some players as reasons for their little streak (one of their GM’s favourite words).

Injury woes continue to try to stymie the Leafs. This time it was 2 centers all at once. Jarret Stoll lost for a day or 2. Paul Gaustad lost for 1 week. The Toronto Marlies the farm team for the Leafs have had their own trouble with injuries.

In an attempt to go far in the TFMHL playoffs Toronto has offered contracts to 2 players. One of which is a C/LW and the other a RW/LW.
